El Gouna has two main hubs of activity. The first is the Abu Tig Marina and its new extension, the New Marina. The second is Downtown, which includes Kafr El Gouna and Tamr Henna.
Downtown is an area styled after a small Upper Egyptian village and home to shops, cafés, a free open air cinema, bars, and restaurants.
Great lengths have been taken to ensure that the town and its buildings conform to the highest architectural standards.
The town’s unique blend of traditional and modern elements are the result of the dedication and work of an impressive list of prestigious architects. American Michael Graves, the winner of many of the world’s architectural
highest ranking awards, designed several of El Gouna’s hotels, as well as the Golf Club, and Golf Villas. The earth tones and sea color splashes, which characterize these projects, helped to set the tone of the resort.
Italian architect, Alfredo Freda, designed El Gouna’s attractive Marina, the first of its kind on the Red Sea, as well as the popular and exclusive Tuscany style Hill Villas. Shahab Mazhar, a prominent Egyptian architect, was inspired by Mediterranean influences in his creation of the beachfront White Villas. The beautiful Nubian Villas are the work of the award winning architects Ramy El-Dahan and Ahmad Hamdy, who also hail from Egypt.
Designed by world renowned architects, El Gouna offers everything from exclusive private villas to cozy apartments in the heart of the town. All properties are waterfront and feature a variety of architectural styles, sizes, and locations.

The mother of all neighborhoods, the white villas came as the grand opening of what has become the unrivaled El Gouna lifestyle. Starting with a small collection of elegant villas commonly known as ‘Phase I’ or White Villas, the property overlooks the serene blue waters of the sea redefining the concept of waterfront living. To date, the white villas have evolved through five phases, making this neighborhood an original in the making, surrounding the first non commercial marina of El Gouna that harbored all homeowners’ boats, The Abydos Marina.
Live in the beating heart of the town
The first hub for the town was Kafr El Gouna. It was here that the first supermarket owned by the famous Guirguis, was opened.
